“Canopiglow” is a spiritual space of “colorful spirits” where 2 or more people gather. It creates a sense of belonging to the community, not only shortening the distance between each other physically but also building strong connections and bonds between each individual emotionally. The installation consists of the external cantilever patio umbrella structure sewed with curtain-like black fabrics underneath which provides a private intimate space and the internal wire framework adorned with colorful acrylic sheets, fabrics and some hanging reflective materials such as steel wool, aluminum foil, and strings of beads. As participants enter the space, they can walk around slowly and observe the light and shadow that captures and interacts with them as well as the colors that are captured by the background fabric environment.
