Soft, natural light filters through broken branches, offering relief—a sight for sore eyes. It’s a moment of rest in an overstimulating world, a quiet reminder that even in decay, renewal is possible. The installation blends real materials with digital projection, revealing the slow process of 腐化 (decay). Organic, branch-like structures once full of life now show signs of wear, representing exhaustion, overexposure to harsh light, and the fading of once-vibrant spaces. Yet, within these fractures, light emerges—just as nature finds ways to heal itself over time. Rooted in the ancient Chinese myth of Nüwa (女娲), Decay and Regrowth explores the balance between creation and decay. Inspired by Nüwa’s act of mending the sky with five-colored stones, this piece reflects the natural cycle of transformation. It invites viewers to pause, breathe, and embrace the beauty in both change and restoration.
