The installation "Luminous Veil" explores the interplay of light, materiality, and perception, transforming an ordinary illuminated space into a dynamic atmospheric experience. A reflective iridescent material functions in this installation to produce unexpected distorting and refracting effects on light. Movable lighting reflections appear on the semi-transparent layers through which the surface exhibits varying color changes when movement or points of view alter. Small holes in the material let light pass through thereby creating sophisticated shadow patterns on the bottom structures. The formed projections assume organic patterns which resemble natural expressions like sunlight passing through tree foliage or wavy light false reflections from water surfaces. The light's disappearing gradient creates depth in the space which produces movement through shadow transitions between illumination and structural elements. Luminous Veil uses light properties and optical principles to make viewers question the mutual interaction between material elements and perceptual experiences. The artwork functions as both physical object and atmospheric space which examines how manipulated light shapes perceptions of space and emotional resonance as well as visual perception boundaries.
