The family reunion plays a significant role in Chinese tradition. No matter which festival we celebrate, the most crucial aspect is to have a festive meal with family members. However, due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, it has been more than two years since the last time I united with my whole family, and this applies to many people despite their nationality, race, or culture. Intending to bring family members together, I created this lighting installation piece. The aim is to allow the viewers to interact with the colorful figures as if they are having a joyful party with the entire family. Viewers have the freedom to use their flashlights to create their scenes and interactions with the colorful shadows. Here, the vivid and bright figures act as solace for nostalgia.
