For centuries, sunlight remained the only source of light that contributes to natural growth. The process of photosynthesis allows green plants to use this light energy to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals from the soil into chemical energy. Humans soon discovered the boons of technology and not long after were able to mimic this source of light to aid the growth of indoor plants. Energy is not lost in this process of self-sustenance. Rather, it is borrowed and channeled in new ways and remains whole in the larger system. Floral Glow looks to grow lights as a model to understand light as a source of energy, which moves, bends, and transforms to attune itself to the plants it is nurturing. Its shifting colors allow the user to experience a wide range of flora, ranging from fuschias to California poppies, orchids, and more! In having a point source of light be captured and amplified in the floral bowl, it addresses the blurring interface between the natural and man-made. There is neither a beginning nor an end!
