“Lighting the Way” is an interactive exploration of light that allows the viewers to immerse themselves within the puzzle. Turning the wheel, the audience can find the correct way through the labyrinth, while illuminating various paths of color, and illustrating different lighting effects, ultimately leading to the success of solving the maze. This is accomplished as the light is reflected throughout the passageways when the piece is rotated. The maze itself can be turned by hand or automatically rotated to reveal a constant labyrinth of reflections, shadows, and luminescence. It is a representation of how we are able to navigate life’s complexities (decision making and choosing pathways) to follow the light that leads to our success.
