“Neighboring” is a wall-mounted installation depicting natural communities through light. Largely organic, the form references spontaneous fungal growths, beehives, and coral reefs. Its structure mimics a rock or cave with three growths emanating light. These "growths” are formed with dozens of paper cones; each cone an individual forming its community. We have become increasingly solitary as people, but we’ve never truly been separated despite this isolation. Our lives remain entangled with others and connected to our communities. Individuals are not forged in solitude, we are alive because of the people around us. Life is simple, we only have to allow it to happen. Materials: Paper, Cardboard, Glue, Lightbulbs, Wiring
