Since the origin of our conception, we have depended on the warmth and light of fire. It produces our food and grants us our vision. It is a discovery that we cannot live without and are truly bound by. I created a light piece that challenges these boundaries of survival and implements a meaningful one that connects each other. I wanted to imagine what those moments could have looked like, specifically surrounding the ritual of cave paintings. The object presents figures in celebration of this discovery, dancing around their primitive candles in a cave, painting their shadows, recanting a moment instantly onto a wall.
