This project uses rice paper and vellum paper as the carriers of light, creating a hazy, gentle, and retro visual effect. Inspired by opened books, the form of the artwork resembles folded paper, introducing repetition and rhythm. Warm-colored diffused light provides warmth and inclusiveness to the overall project, while the positive and negative spaces created by the folds add dramatic and visual impact. We hope that the material texture of this artwork can evoke a sense of nostalgia in the viewers, reminding people of enjoyable memories from their past lives. Meanwhile, we have also employed the geometric form of the rhombus to suggest its modern aspect—past and present intersecting, triggering various emotional resonances on multiple levels, and each viewer can feel different emotions from this piece based on their own experiences. These emotions are personal and healing; they approach the deepest emotional needs of individuals, making the experience intimate and capable of bringing tranquility. In a physical aspect, the light of this project is uneven, concentrating in specific areas. This makes individuals feel they have a unique and close contact with the light, forming a physical intimacy.
