Sunrises are the beginning of a new day. Each and everyone one of us has experienced a sunrise. Similar to a sunrise is a sunset which marks the end of the day. These are times of reflection. In Judaism, we say the Shema two times a day, at sunrise and sunset. This is because we have to remind ourselves to be thankful for what we have and what the future might hold. What I have learned from the pandemic and life, in general, is that I cannot stress over the things I cannot control. Let life be fulfilled with new experiences while not forgetting the mistakes made in the past. Shattering memories is a light effect that emphasizes the idea that the past are fragments of who we are and that each day is a new day. It is made with shattered mirrors which are suspended by thin strings in a grid formation with the animation of a sunrise.
