The word "Skyfall" bears its significance from the two words that constitute it. Both "sky" and "fall" hold meaning in themselves yet come together to build on one another. The term, often informal, avoids one concrete purpose. Much like proximity, the word can describe a natural phenomenon, a series of events, or simply a feeling. It can signify danger or, instead, a sense of home. Two objects can fall together yet land separately, while those following their own paths may be drawn in by each other's gravitational field. Skyfall is a lighting project that freezes a moment in time, as shards of a larger whole come crashing down to the ground below. As they are separated by empty space, they are simultaneously enclosed in the same volume, bathed in the shimmering lights in the distance. A central, brighter light draws many shards in, masking its intense glow with the smooth, glassy curves. This proximity is drawn out eternally by the web connecting all inside the volume, but this proximity is just as brief with the inevitability that each shard will continue its fall to the ground below. Skyfall embodies chaos, but one that has been forced to be still, open to observation. Each connection created is just as special in its fleeting nature as it is made irrelevant by the same reality.
